The player development pathway is made up of 6 components each contributing to a players overall development. Each component in the Future of Football Academy’s Player Development Pathway consists of a variety of exercises that develop a players technical ability combined with their tactical awareness and understanding of the game.
Enhance player confidence in 1v1 situations whilst attacking and defending. Learning both how to beat a player and the art of defending.
Enhance finishing ability through creating an environment that encourages creative and intuitive play.
Develop understanding of positional play and tactics, combined with the ability to recognise triggers and phases of play.
Learn to master the ball through different ball control exercises using all surfaces of both feet. Combined with discovering moves, tricks and turns to beat a defender or unlock a defence.
Develop first touch control and passing ability. Focused on short and long passes as well as passing for possession or penetration.
Develop and advance key game related movements with and without a ball.
